PhilHealth turns over 10,000 cards to Oro gov't
Cagayan de Oro City (5 September) -- A TOTAL of 10,000 PhilHealth cards were turned over to the city government of Cagayan de Oro by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) in Region 10.
Acting City Administrator Griscelda Joson, received the cards together with city Councilors Alexander Dacer, chair of the committee on barangay affairs, and Dante Pajo, chair of the committee on health and social services.
Jay Lituaņas, PhilHealth-10 information officer, turned-over the cards that will be distributed by the city government for the indigent beneficiaries in the different barangays in the city.
Joson said that the city allocated P6 million for the PhilHealth cards or P600 for every indigent family.
City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula supports the program since it has helped a lot of indigent families gain access to quality health care.
Mayor Jaraula stressed the need to ensure good health and well-being of the residents as a key to a truly progressive city.
