JDS recruits applicants

BUTUAN CITY (September 6) -- The Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) Project is now recruiting applicants for the 6th year of its project implementation for Japanese Academic Year 2008-2009.
The JDS project is a long-term scholarship program of the Philippine government, in partnership with the Japanese government aimed to provide Filipinos with opportunities for obtaining master's degree from Japanese institutions for higher education and to extend and strengthen the bilateral relations between Japan and the Philippines.
Applicants must be Filipino citizens, below 40 years old as of April 1, 2008. They must be government employees with permanent status, and has two years work experience in the public sector at the time of the application.
Applicants must also have performance rating of at least very satisfactory at the time of application with a bachelor's degree relevant to the target fields except for the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) wherein, applicants should have bachelor's degree in ICT or equivalent is required and has not been awarded foreign scholarship for Master's degree.
Deadline for submission of completed application forms and requirements to Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) JDS Project Office is on October 19, 2007 at 4:30 in the afternoon.
