September is Dev't Policy Research Month
Negros Occ. (6 September) -- The month of September is Development Policy Research Month (DPRM) in the country made official last September 2, 2002 through Presidential Proclamation No. 247.
Spearheading this year's celebration is the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) with the Philippine Institute for Development Studies. This years focus is expressed in its theme "Enhancing Grassroots Development: A Framework for Local Governance."
In Manila, DILG Sec. Ronaldo Puno has issued a memorandum circular for provincial mayors and governors to attend activities related to the celebration like Research Fair 2007, Fora on Local Government Budgeting, Community-Based Monitoring System and Framework for Regional and Local Development.
Related activity in Negros Occ. is an "Orientation Seminar on Local Government Budgeting" for new and re-elected public officials on September 12 and 13.
The seminar on September 12 will be held in L' Fisher Hotel and is intended for elected officials for the 1st and 3rd districts while the activity on September 13 will be held at the Business Inn and is a seminar for the 4th and 6th district elected officials. (PIA-LOL) [top]
