CSC calls on gov't to give best service to the public
Tacloban City (September 6) -- As the country commemorates the 107th Anniversary of Philippine Civil Service, Director Rodolfo Encajonado of the Civil Service Commission in Region 8, called on the government workers to give the best service to the people.
Director Encajonado said the government workers are lucky to have been taken in when there are thousands or millions of Filipinos who want to join the government service.
The director also called on the public to report any deficiencies of government agencies or shortcomings of government workers, so that the necessary action will be taken.
He said that there is such a thing as the Mamamayan Muna Hindi Mamaya which are supposed to be implemented in every government agency. If the public has any complaints then they should see the head of the agency or they can air their grievance through the agency's Bilis Aksyon Center. Otherwise, they can file their complaints at the Civil Service Commission.
He added that if there are government personnel or government agencies which are worth commending, the public should also commend them.
The Commission annually gives citations or Parangal to the public officials who made a difference in their agencies through their service or innovative ideas, Director Encajonado said.
The Director also said that compared to their counterpart in the private companies, the government workers in the second level have far lower salaries. But the government is now trying to have a law passed so that the wages will be increased.
He called on the public to help the government workers by advocating to their congressmen the passage of the Civil Service Code and the Government Compensation and Classification Act. (PIA 8) [top]
