CSC-10 brings gov't service to the mall, sets Career Service exams

Cagayan de Oro City (6 September) -- Mall-goers are in for a treat as government agencies will set up shop at the SM Event Centre, 2nd level, SM City CdO, Upper Carmen, this city from September 10 to 12, 2007.

Dubbed "Government Express goes to the Mall," the event is one of the activities to be conducted by the regional office of the Civil Service Commission (CSC-10) in celebrating the 107th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service under the theme "Itaguyod ang Kasarinlan ng Career Service."

In a statement, CSC-10 Regional Director Atty. Lourdes Clavite-Vidal said that the three-day affair seeks to bring 'one-stop shop' frontline services to the transacting public.

At these booths, the public can lodge complaints and feedback, or obtain information about the agencies' key programs and services.

She added that participating agencies are the regional offices of the CSC, Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF/Pag-IBIG), Social Security System (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), National Statistics Office (NSO), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), and the Civil Registrar's, Assessor's and Treasurer's Offices of the local government of Cagayan de Oro.

Clavite-Vidal also those interested to take the October 28 Career Service Professional and Sub-Professional Examination in Cagayan de Oro City to file their applications at the CSC-10 one-stop shop booth.

Furthermore, the regional director outlined the examination requirements. Applicants must be 18 years and above. They are advised to bring the following upon filing: Four (4) recently taken pieces passport size photographs (scanned and computer-printed photos not accepted) with name tag; a valid identification card (current driver's license, SSS, school or company ID) and a photocopy of it; duly accomplished CS examination form; and an examination fee of P350.00.

The October 28 schedule is the last examination set for the year. Filing is now ongoing, last day for submission of accomplished forms is on September 28, 2007. (CSC-10 / PIA-10) [top]
