"Disco sa Kalye" caps 9th GenSan Tunafest
General Santos City (7 September) -- Thousands of people from all walks of life danced to the beat of disco music during the Disco sa Kalye Wednesday as the celebration of the 9th Tuna Festival came to an end.
It was so far the biggest number of people who joined the disco on the streets since it was started years before.
The revelry and merry-making, which went through until the wee hours of the morning, was peaceful as security officers conducted tight security measures to ensure a peaceful celebration.
Meanwhile, Mayor Pedro B. Acharon, Jr., thanked all private companies, NGOs, POs, groups and individuals who contributed to the success of the 39th City Charter Anniversary and 9th Tuna Festival.
Acharon and Rep. Darlene A. Custodio (1st Dist.-South Cotabato) also thanked Mr. Bebot Haw, Festival Director, the Tuna Festival Council and the GenSan City Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Inc. for their efforts which resulted to the success of the festivities. (CPIO/jpa/PIA SarGen) [top]
