DAR repairs 9 classrooms at P1.6 million
Zamboanga City (7 September) -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Zamboanga del Sur under OIC-PARO II GLENN C. SABIJON has released the amount of PhP 1.6 Million for the repair/rehabilitation of 9 elementary school classrooms in 3 Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) to benefit a total of 1,691 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs).
Two classrooms in Kalian ARC, Margosatubig costing Php 738,000.00; 6 classrooms in Bulawan ARC, Lapuyan; costing Php 405,000.00 and 1 classroom in Gubang ARC, Pagadian City amounting to Php 450,000.00 were turned over to the respective Parent-Teacher Community Associations in the above-mentioned agrarian reform communities.
The Belgian Integrated Agrarian Reform Support Programme (BIARSP) in the respective Municipal and Barangay local government units and Parent-Teacher Associations funded the repair and rehabilitation of the 9 schools.
City Division Superintendent of Schools Erlinda Salera, Kalian Principal Pablio Recto, Retired Principal Veronica Gallardo and Teacher-In-Charge Mrs. Baod of Bulawan, all from the Department of Education accepted the turn-over of school rooms.
