CSC launches wireless network in Abra

by Maritess Beñas

BANGUED, Abra (7 September) -- The Civil Service Commission – Abra Field Office will launch the wireless network on September 24 to culminate the various activities in celebration of the CSC 107th anniversary in the province.

Relative to its theme: "Itaguyod and Kasarinlan ng Career Service", the wireless network will provide personnel information data base system like computerized appointments of career servants.

In an interview with Dir. Rogelio T. Del Rosario, CSC-Abra Field Director, he explained the importance of the wireless information network especially as it has to cater to the needs of the various national and local government agencies in the 27 municipalities, most of which are far flung towns and difficult to traveling especially during the rainy seasons when roads are literally hazardous to traverse.

Del Rosario assured the security of the information that will be stored in the data base of the network because all data will be encrypted only in the CSC computer and will be accessed only by the authorized personnel particularly the Human Resources Management Officers to prevent hacking.

The wireless network which will be launched by CSC-Abra is unique in all the CSC field offices in the CAR region and is the first innovation to be adopted by a field office in the region.

Also, in line with PGMA administration's strong and steady effort to curb graft and corruption among government agencies through administrative controls and procedural reforms to sustain their improved performances especially those in the frontline of day-to-day public services, the Field Office is now undertaking the new CSC program of Public Service Delivery Audit.

Together with all national line agencies, the CSC will be going to Villaviciosa municipality on September 13 to conduct the first of the series of capability-building efforts aimed at empowering the people for a better participation in local governance.

Also on September 24, the CSC will be conducting a seminar on Productivity and Quality in the HRM Workplace. Other trainings set to be carried out are the Performance Management System, and the Seminar on Administrative Discipline to protect the career servants from abusive authorities.

Meanwhile, CSC Abra is awaiting the result of the annual CSC Awards because one of its nominees, Lilibeth B. Martin is a Semi-Finalists for the Dangal ng Bayan Awards. (PIA-Abra) [top]
