Makati Business Club seals partnership with ARMM Business Council

Koronadal City (10 September) -- The Makati Business Club expressed their gratitude to the organizers of the ARMM Business Council for recognizing their role as partners and having been giving the chance to interact with the members of the ARMM community during the 6th ARMM Business Congress held last September 4-5 here in Cotabato City.

Businessman Alberto Lim, Executive Director of Makati Business Club in his statement before the Congress acknowledged various opportunities the region can offer to investors. He cited the regions fertile lands, its pool of workers and low rates of basic utilities to name a few, however he noted with equal concern the negative impressions that overshadow its attractive qualities.

Lim said, through their affiliation with the ARMM Business Council they will work out to correct these impressions and convince other business sectors to do its share to achieve a sustained peace in the country, especially in Mindanao.

The Makati Business Club was founded in 1981, and now composed of over 700 business leaders representing almost 450 corporations in the country. It is dedicated to addressing economic and social policy issues which affect national development.

The MBC strives to create and maintain links with business sectors outside Metro Manila, exchange information and ideas with other private sectors groups on important business, economic and political issues, Lim explained. (CLC/PIA 12) [top]
