RDC 02 to celebrate 25th founding anniversary
Tuguegarao City (September 11) -- The Regional Development Council will celebrate its 25th year with weeklong activities on Sept. 24-28, 2007 with the theme "Disaster Risk Reduction for a Safer Future."
The event will feature efforts on increasing awareness and understanding on global warming, climate change and disaster awareness.
The holding of the 93rd Council Meeting will kick-off the weeklong RDC week celebration at Santiago City on Sept. 24, 2007.
The activities include Rabies Summit on Sept. 25; RDC2 Private Sector Representatives (PSR) Orientation Workshop on Sept. 26; Cagayan Valley Green Highway and Development Policy Research Forum on Sept. 27; and Seminar on Climate Change on Sept. 28. All these activities will be held at the NEDA Region 02 Conference Hall.
The observance of the RDC Week is part of RDC's aim to strengthen partnerships among members and to widen its advocacy reach within the region.
The frontliners and sponsors in this affair are the various RDC committees, LGUs and participating members including the Center for Health Development-Cagayan Valley, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and other line agencies.
