NVizcaya police kill robbery holdup suspect, recover 2 firearms

KASIBU, Nueva Vizcaya (September 13) -- Another robbery hold-up suspect was killed by policemen in barangay Antutot here Tuesday (September 11) as the law enforcers were conducting hot pursuit operations following the foiled robbery holdup over the weekend.

Police Senior Supt. Segundo Duran, provincial director the identity of the suspect is still being processed. The killing of the suspect happened after policemen encountered the remnants of the robbery hold up gang in barangay Antutot at 11 a.m.

He said the suspect yielded an M16 assault rifle with ammunitions. Another rifle, also an M16 was recovered by policemen in barangay Runruno in Quezon town, believed to have been abandoned by their wounded colleagues.

Earlier, the police encountered the robbery hold-up gang Saturday (September 8) while in the process of looting passengers of 8 passenger jeeps in barangay Antutot in this town and wounded two of their companions namely Ben Dunghayon, 25 and Albino Domingo, 24, both residents of the said barangay.

Also recovered by the police were assorted cellphones, handbags,fatigue uniforms and cash.

Duran said the robbery hold up gang was responsible for the series of robbery incidents in this town, victimizing vegetable traders, farmers and businessmen who rely on vegetable and citrus production. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
