PCSO roadshow kicks off with a bang in Tuguegarao
Tuguegarao City (September 13) -- The 2nd leg of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) charity mission here was well-received by the local folk during the weekend.
Dubbed as "Walang Kupas," the roadshow featured free medical and dental services and was capped by a concert.
More than a thousand residents from Barangay Ugac Sur and also from nearby barangays came for medical consultation and tooth extraction and were likewise given free medicines.
Meanwhile, the concert was flocked by about 500 people which featured the JC Radio Band, 2nd quarter winner of "Tongkantangto" search for young and aspiring amateur bands conducted by PCSO and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA). The band sang their winning piece about PCSO. It won for their top prize in the said contest.
On the other hand, a local band composed of blind youngsters also took centerstage during the concert.
According to Darcy Geronimo, head of the PCSO Publicity and Promotions department, the roadshow aims to reciprocate the people's support of their products and services such as the lotto, sweepstakes and lately, the keno.
After Tuguegarao City, the roadshow will likewise visit Santiago City in Isabela, Dagupan, Laoag, Baguio, Olongapo, Cabanatuan, Daet, Iriga, Naga, Legaspi and Sorsogon.
