DILG sets seminar for effective local legislation
Negros Occ. (13 September) -- The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) with the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) here is set to hold a three-day seminar-workshop on Effective Local Legislation for Vice Mayors and Sangguniang Members of this province.
Assistant Provincial Director and Local Government Academy Coordinator Eduardo Basinang said about 310 local officials would be attending the seminar divided in five clusters.
Cluster I will be held on October 2-4, Cluster II October 9-11, Cluster III October 16-18, Cluster IV October 23-25 and Cluster V November 7-9. Venue of the activity is at Check Inn Pension Plaza.
"This skills training aims to equip Sangguniang Members with sufficient knowledge and skills on effective legislation for them to perform their duties and functions efficiently," Basinang told PIA.
A new topic that will be discussed along with other essential subjects is the Ordinance Codification where officials will be taught how to codify ordinances into code of general ordinances, revenue or tax ordinances, investment incentive code and environment code.
