Butuan City (September 13) -- Independent survey made among 25 members of the National Executive Board of the National Federation of Philippine Press Clubs (NFPPC) nationwide favors the decision of the Sandiganbayan on Former President Joseph Estrada's plunder case.
According to Felix Villacastin, National President of the NFPPC, 98 percent of the NFPPC members favor the Sandigan Bayan's guilty verdict on Erap's plunder case. Among the opinions from the NFPPC members that Villacastin gathered are:
1. The Sandiganbayan decision will serve as warning to government officials that no matter how mighty or influential a person is, the law prevails; 2. That it is considered a victory to the Philippine justice system; 3. That Erap deserves a guilty verdict; 4. That Philippine Justice System is still working. Justice cannot be cowed with pressures, however justice is very slow for the rich and powerful but fast for the poor. (PIA-13) [top]
