35 farmers graduate from Farmers Field School in Kabankalan City
Bacolod City (13 September) -- The second batch of 35 farmers graduated from the Farmers Field School, a project of the City Agriculture Office in Kabankalan City.
The school trained farmers on chemical-free farming, which is in line with the Organik Program of the Department of Agriculture.
During the graduation rites, the provincial government turned over a donation of 180 bags of organic fertilizers, 3 boxes of humus powder organic fertilizer, two sets of drum seeder and two sets of rotary weeder to the Brgy. Daan Banua Rainfield Farmers Association.
Kabankalan City Mayor Pedro P. Zayco cited the importance of farmers in society and mentioned Brgy. Daan Banua as the "rice granary" of Kabankalan City.
Zayco also announced that a Farmers Center will be constructed in Brgy. Daan Banua.(PIA/cad) [top]
