GenSan to host 16th MinBizCon

General Santos City (13 September) -- This city will host the forthcoming 16th Mindanao Business Conference this coming September 21-22, 2007 at the KCC Convention & Events Center, this city.

According to Mr. Antonio G. Veneracion, President of the General Santos City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GSCCCII), the host chamber, the keynote address will be delivered by Kristie A. Kenney, U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines.

Also invited as resource speaker is Hon. Teng Xijun, Charge d' Affaire of the Peoples Republic of China to the Philippines, Veneracion added.

Engr. Allan Du Yaphockun, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Regional Governor for Southern Mindanao and Conference Vice Chairman, on the otherhand, disclosed that the gathering will be graced by Mr. Samie Lim, PCCI President and Mr. Donald Dee, Ambassador and Special Envoy for International Trade Negotiations.

The Conference will be attended by top business executives coming from the 5 regions and 10 cities of Mindanao including heads of government agencies such as the Department of Trade & Industry, Department of Tourism, Department of Science and Technology, National Economic Development Authority and others.

A Trade Exhibit will also be opened on September 20, 2007 also at KCC Mall.

The local government of GenSan headed by Mayor Pedro B. Acharon, Jr. is fully supporting this conference and has extended financial assistance to the host chamber. (CPIO/jpa/PIA SarGen) [top]
