La Castellana NHS qualifies for 'Brigada Eskwela' national finals
Bacolod City (14 September) -- La Castellana National High School (LCNHS) topped the recent Regional Evaluation for Brigada Eskwela also known as the National Schools' Maintenance Week which also entitles the school to represent the region in the National Level Evaluation.
Brigada Eskwela, one of the programs of the Department of Education (DepEd), aims to encourage the students, teachers, community and stakeholders to prepare the school every opening of classes.
Representing the Division of Negros Occidental, LCNHS bested 14 other Divisions in Western Visayas with Doņa Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School of the Division of Silay City ranking third and Sagay National High School of the Division of Sagay City in the fourth rank.
LCNHS implemented Brigada Eskwela last May 21 26, 2007. During the six-day activity teachers, parents, students, local government officials, military personnel and members of religious denominations as well as civic organizations worked hand in hand constructing perimeter fences, repainting classrooms, installing water lines, and other clean-up activities to prepare for the school opening.
