10 Kalinga entrepreneurs set to join Impakabsat 2007

TABUK CITY (14 September) -- Ten local entrepreneurs from the province recently confirmed their participation in the Impakabsat 2007 Fair to be held in November 2-14 at the National Capital Region.

Benedicta Mangadap,Trade and Industry Development Specialist (TIDS) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Kalinga, informed that those that confirmed include Ayatu's Crafts, Praj's, Nessaj and Jenny's, Mikah and Kinwa, Kalinga Woodworks and Furniture Association Incorporated (KWFAI), NORREF, Our Tribe Food Products, Kalinga Treat, Mananig and BITICK.

These industries will join the other Cordilleran entrepreneurs who will be participating in the event, which she said was designed to exclusively promote and showcase Cordillera's unique arts, crafts, special skills, resources and attractions.

"Our local entrepreneurs will be displaying Kalinga's One Town One Product (OTOP) goods to include the three brewed coffee namely Kalinga Brew, Mananig Wild coffee and the Kalinga Blend along with the Unoy upland inorganic rice," she said. They will also be showcasing loom woven materials, costumes, bags, accessories, several gift items and locally made furniture.

Mangadap said that the fair is part of DTI's assistance programs for Small Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs) in support to the SME development agenda of government.

DTI Kalinga has extended its support to several SMEs in terms of training, marketing, product development and promotion taking their enterprises to a higher business performance indicated by their increasing sales and expanding market. (ggd/PIA-Kalinga) [top]
