PGMA to inspect P210M Dapitan-Dakak road project Monday

DAPITAN CITY, Zamboanga del Norte (16 September) -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is scheduled to visit Dapitan City and Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte Monday afternoon to inspect an ongoing road project and inaugurate a presidential suite of the world-famous Dakak Park and Beach Resort.

The President would proceed to Dapitan City onwards to Dakak Park and Beach Resort on the last leg of her three-city swing of the Zamboanga Peninsula.

She would fly to Dipolog City after her visit to Pagadian City in nearby Zamboanga del Sur Monday morning.

From Dipolog City, the President will travel by land to Dakak to conduct a windshield inspection of the ongoing widening of the Dapitan City- Dakak Road.

The road project stands to make travel to the world-famous beach resort easier and faster.

Upon arrival at the Dakak Park and Beach Resort, the President will lead the ceremonial ribbon-cutting to inaugurate the presidential suite at the resort.

The President is also scheduled to have dinner and an informal interaction with local officials and media at the resort.

Dakak Park and Beach Resort is located on the sunny white beach facing the exotic turquoise Sulu Sea. The 750-meter private beach is blanketed with pure, powdery white sand. Natural spring water and tumbling waterfalls feed the resort's two pools.

The resort is sensitively designed in keeping with the area's natural surroundings. The native-style cottages are constructed in traditional bamboo and nipa leaves, and feature marble-tiled bathrooms and Capiz shell window panes.

The resort's Aqua Sports Center is a mecca for watersports fans. State-of-the-art facilities include hobie cats, jet skis, water-skiing and deep water fishing. (PIA) [top]
