President Arroyo visits Zambo Norte tomorrow

Dipolog City (16 September) -- President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will visit Zamboanga del Norte tomorrow, particularly the twin cities of Dipolog and Dapitan, to inaugurate the newly constructed Zamboanga del Norte Medical Center at Barangay Sicayab in this city and to see for herself the progress of the road widening project from Dapitan City to the famous Dakak Park and Beach resort, respectively.

The President is arriving here tomorrow afternoon from Pagadian City where she was also invited to inaugurate a number of projects in conjunction with the 55th anniversary celebration of the province of Zamboanga del Sur.

Upon arrival at the airport, President Arroyo will be received by Zamboanga del Norte Gov.Rolando E. Yebes, Dipolog City Mayor Evelyn Tang-Uy, Dapitan City Mayor Dominador Jalosjos Jr., 1st District Rep. Cecilia Jalosjos-Carreon, 2nd District Rep. Rosendo Labadlabad, 3rd District Rep. Cesar Jalojos, police provincial director Supt. Mario Yanga, Maj. Gen. Nehemias Pajarito, Air Transportation Office-Dipolog Chief Engr. Erlinda de los Reyes and League of Mayors of the Philippines (LMP) provincial chairman Mayor Jesus N. Lim of Salug town.

After the inauguration of the Zanorte Medical Center, a "pulong bayan" will follow right at the hospital lobby with Philhealth card holders, Botica ng Barangay operators, mayors, some barangay captains and members of the local press.

The "pulong bayan" is said to focus on health related concerns and the government's program to provide affordable medicines to the public.

The President will then motor to Dapitan after the "pulong bayan" to inspect the road widening project from the city proper to Dakak Beach resort which has been appropriated P300 million. Its construction is now going on with 12.15 percent actual accomplishment as reported by the third engineering district of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Dapitan City.

President Arroyo will fly back to Manila on Wednesday. (PIA-ZN) [top]
