BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (September 18) -- Police authorities yesterday filed charges of bribery against the head of the Register of Deeds(ROD) office in Isabela province after he was caught in an entrapment operation for extorting money from a client last week.
Sr. Supt. Dominador Aquino, Jr., Isabela police provincial director said they have filed bribery charges against Carlos Serrano, ROD chief in Isabela and his employee Filemon Agbayani before the provincial prosecutor's office here.
Aquino said Serrano allegedly asked the money from his client amounting to P18,000 marked money to immediately facilitate the release and processing of the complainant's land title.
He said Serrano could also be charged with illegal possession of firearm as he was caught with a 9mm Glock inside his office where he could not show any legal papers.
