September 28 is deadline for submission of PNPA CAT applications

Cagayan de Oro City (19 September) -- Interested applicants have until Sept. 28, 2007 to send in their applications for the Philippine National Police Academy Cadet Admission Test on Oct. 28, this year.
The exam will determine the cadets to compose the PNPA Class of 2012 who will be made to undergo a free 4-year residential scholarship leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Public Safety (BSPS) that assures a stable job after being commissioned officers with initial rank of inspector in the PNP, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
"Applications must be sent to the PNPA, Camp Castaneda, 4129 Silang, Cavite before the Sept. 28 deadline as "No Walk In" applicants will be allowed to take the exams," P/Chief Supt. Teodorico B. Capuyan, Regional Director of PNP, region 10, said.
The PNPA CAT which includes areas in communication skills, logical and reasoning ability, Mathematics and Sciences, general information and current events, as well as, values and aptitude for the service will be held in Cagayan de Oro City for region 10 applicants.
To qualify, applicants must be a natural-born Filipino citizen, of good moral character, single with no child or children, physically and mentally fit for regimented cadetship training and not a former cadet of the PNPA or other service academies.
Stands at least 162.5 cm. (5ft., 4in.) for males and 157.5 cm. (5ft., 2in.) for females, not younger than 18 and not older than 22 years of age at the time of admission or must be born between April 1, 1986 to April 1, 1990, at least high school graduate with no criminal, administrative or civil cases pending before any tribunal or court of justice and no derogatory record(s).
