After 12 years, Minbizcon returns to Gensan
General Santos City (19 September) -- 12 years after the Mindanao Business Conference was first held in Gen. Santos City in 1995, this annual conference of all the members of the chambers of commerce of the 5 regions and 10 cities of Mindanao now comes back to the Tuna Capital for its 16th incarnation on September 21-22, 2007.
According to Mr. Antonio G. Veneracion, President of the General Santos City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GSCCCII), the host chamber, the keynote speaker for the conference which will be held at the KCC Convention and Events Center is Kristie A. Kenney, U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines.
The KCC Convention and Events Center was also the venue of the highly-successful 9th National Tuna Congress earlier this month.
Engr. Allan Du Yaphockun, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Regional Governor for Southern Mindanao and Conference Vice Chairman, disclosed that the gathering will also be graced by Mr. Samie Lim, PCCI President, Mr. Donald Dee, Ambassador and Special Envoy for International Trade Negotiations, Dept. of Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap, and Senator Francis Pangilinan who will give the Closing Remarks.
A Trade Exhibit featuring the best of Mindanao products will also open simultaneously at KCC Mall.
The local government of GenSan headed by Mayor Pedro B. Acharon, Jr. who will deliver the Welcome Address, is fully supporting this conference and has extended financial assistance to the host chamber.
