NVizcaya DTI bares activities for consumer welfare month celebration
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (September 20) – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) here recently bared its planned activities for the celebration of the consumer welfare month this October.
Ma. Salvacion Castillejos, DTI provincial director said the monthlong celebration will be composed of the launching program for the Consumer Welfare Month on October 1 at the provincial capitol where the slogan, essay writing and poster making contests along with a dialogue with students and information drive will be held.
This will followed by radio and TV program focusing on consumerism on October 2,4 & 5, training on first aid and fire safety on October 3 and enforcement of fair trade and industry laws and evaluation of public markets in growth municipalities from October 9-11.
Catillejos added that the launching of Pinoy Consumer on Patrol(COP) in selected schools of the province will be done on October 12 along with the consumer education for elderly on October 26 and the closing and awarding program from October 29 to November 5.
She said the activities lined up for the Consumer Welfare Month celebration with the theme, "Consumer Education and Info: Key to Consumer Empowerment," will be participated by students, consumers and partner agencies such as the Department of Education (DepEd), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippine Information Agency(PIA), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC), Department of Agriculture, Provincial Health Office (PHO), Department of Environment and Natural Resources(DENR), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), National Food Authority (NFA), Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD), Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD), NV Consumer–Net (NVCN) among others.
