URDANETA CITY (20 September) -- This eastern Pangasinan city became the latest recipient of medical and dental services Tuesday, as part of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office's 'Walang Kupas Roadshow' staged in the region.
City Mayor Amadeo R. Perez,Jr thanked PCSO for choosing Urdaneta as a beneficiary. He said indigent patients started arriving as early as 8 am
"Akmang-akma nga itong walang kupas na tema ng PCSO," Perez said." Alam naman nating all these years, when you speak of charity, when you speak of help to the poorer sector of the community, ang ahensiya ng gobyerno at walang kupas na naninilbihan ay ang PCSO, kaya maraming salamat sa PCSO"
The mayor also expressed his gratitude to the doctors and personnel of PCSO and to President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo
Over 663 medical and 158 dental patients availed of the services at the third floor of the fully air-conditioned Urdaneta Sports and Cultural Center.
The PCSO medical team headed by Dr. Feliciana Lagredo included four doctors, six dentists, six nurses and paramedics. This was augmented by the city's health personnel and nursing students from the Urdaneta City University.
Early this year, the state-run lottery partnered with the Philippine Information Agency to promote the agency's medical and health services as well as showcase the PCSO products aimed at revenue generation in key cities outside Metro Manila.
The PCSO roadshow was held in Dagupan City earlier. (PIA-Pangasinan) [top]
