Feature: PCSO remains the charity arm of gov't

By Venus May H. Sarmiento

URDANETA CITY (20 September) -- The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is always ready to give assistance to those in need of medical help as long as all the requirements are complete.

This was disclosed by Dr. Feliciana Lagredo, representative of the PCSO management level in the clinical department and the team leader of the recent medical dental mission held in the city.

Lagredo said her office is always ready to provide medical and financial assistance upon the approval of the application of the patient. She said the proper way is to course the application through the provincial district office. A social worker will process the papers.

"Our PDO accommodates the applications and the designated social workers evaluate and process them. Once approved by our main office, the patient can avail of the assistance," Lagredo said.

Lagredo said the PCSO also gives endowment funds to hospitals to help indigent patients.

The clinic, being the charity arm of PCSO, is also involved in the "Serbisyo Muna" project of PAGCOR.

The PCSO Team went to the cities of Dagupan and Urdaneta for the 'Walang Kupas Roadshow" where a medical –dental mission was conducted in the morning and a concert-promo of PCSO products in the evening. (PIA-Pangasinan) [top]
