Tagalog News: Mahigit 9,000 barangay captains di pwedeng tumakbo ngayong darating na barangay elections

Manila (20 September) -- Mahigit 9,000 barangay captains na kasalukuyang nanunungkulan ang maaaring pagbawalan tumakbo sa darating na barangay elections sa darating na Oktubre 29, 2007.

Ang mga ito, ayon sa National Barangay Operations Office (NBOO) ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), ay hindi maaaring tumakbo sa darating na barangay elections dahil sa ang term of office ng mga ito ay humigit na ng 3 terms.

Sa kanyang ulat kay DILG Secretary Ronaldo V. Puno, sinabi ni NBOO Director John Castaņeda na aabot ng 9,642 sa bilang ng 39, 145 na barangay captains sa buong bansa ang maaapektuhan.

Ang ARMM ay hindi kasama sa naturang report. Ayon kay Castaņeda, ang mga '3 termers' punong barangay na ito ay pwedeng tumakbo bilang barangay 'kagawad.' (PIA 12) [top]
