Cagayan de Oro City (20 September) -- TO lure more tourists in the city and to experience the cultural and historical richness of Cagayan de Oro, the Cagayan de Oro Travel and Tours Association (COTTA) launched the Kagay-an Experience.

The launching held at the opening of the tourism week celebration yesterday, September 18 at SM City, created a spark for tourism players, especially the travel and tour operators and the tour guides to work harder in promoting Cagayan de Oro to the world.

Liza Licudine, president of COTTA together with City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula, Department of Tourism-10 Regional Director Catalino Chan III, Madame Divina Jaraula, City Councilor Alden Bacal and City Tourism Officer Imma Rae D. Gatuslao, unveiled the "Kagay-an Experience" tarpaulins that advertise the daily run city tour of COTTA, in cooperation with the Guiya Amihanang Mindanao Association (GAMA).

The Kagay-an Experience is offered at P895 per person and starts at the Divisoria area-Museo de Oro-St. Augustine Cathedral-Gaston Park-Water Tower-Archbishop Palace-City Hall-McArthur Park and shopping spree.

Jenny Boo, president of GAMA, disclosed that the Kagay-an Experience would make a tourist love Cagayan de Oro more as they will learn how culturally and historically rich the city is aside from its bountiful natural resources.

Interested parties may contact any COTTA members, city tourism office and the Department of Tourism-10 starting October 1.

Licudine added that the new product will greatly help in promoting the city to the world and it is COTTA's contribution to Mayor Jaraula's effort in making the city the number tourism destination in the country. (Cagayan de Oro City IO/PIA-MisOrOccCam i-Net) [top]
