Oro junior city hall officials to assume office next week

Cagayan de Oro City (21 September) -- STUDENT leaders from the different schools in Cagayan de Oro City will start to assume their respective posts as junior city government officials on Monday, September 24.

The activity is part of the youth leadership training of the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro in line with the celebration of the Rotary Youth Week on September 24-28.

In a recent courtesy visit of the Rotarians at the office of the city mayor, Edgardo Melchor Palad, president of the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro, told City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula that 49 students coming from 35 private and public high schools in the city will take part in the city government experiential exposure.

Palad said that for the duration of their exposure, the student leaders will be oriented on the functions of the department or office that they will be assigned.

Meanwhile, City Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya, youth director of the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro, revealed that aside from the week-long exposure, the junior city government officials will also visit the city government's charitable institutions and flagship projects.

For his part, Mayor Jaraula lauded the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro for initiating such a leadership training that will mold the character of the students to become responsible leaders in the future.

Mayor Jaraula is expected to induct the Rotary Youth City Officials as counterparts of the city government officials during the flag raising ceremony on Monday. (Cagayan de Oro City IO/PIA-MisOrOccCam i-Net) [top]
