by Jina Shirley G. Dacmay

LAGAWE, Ifugao (22 September) -- Directing its resources to sustain delivery of basic services with emphasis on the opening of farm to market roads in far flung barangays here, Congressman Solomon Chungalao is funding P10 million worth of road openings and rehabilitation projects in this town.

Lagawe mayor Ceasar Cabbigat disclosed that the congressman is giving priority to road openings because this is the only way our marginalized sectors can have easy access to basic social services.

He reported the accomplishment of Tupaya-Dulao Road; Luta -Ponghal-Buyabuyan Road; Caba -Luta-Ponghal -Buyabuyan Road;the road opening of Sadle -Abinuan-Natub-Alimit Road which connects Lagawe to Mayoyao; Sadle-Hukbong-Banao Road that connects Lagawe municipality to the town of Banaue.

Still on implementation are the Hukbong-Montabiong Road; continuation of the Tupaya-Dulao Road and the rehabilitation of the health station here.

He said Chungalao personally came to monitor the implementation of numerous road projects and to see possibilities that would completely link all barangays and municipalities together.

Cabbigat said the road openings has interlinked barangays within the municipality and has opened link with the municipalities of Mayoyao and Banaue.

"The implementation of major roads in many parts of the country by the government displays their concern for development. We are thankful for the funding and implementation of road openings of Farm to Market Roads that will hasten development in the municipality of Lagawe", he added.

This, he said, will hasten human development in terms of economic progress with the expansion and improvement of agricultural lands as farmers can now transport agricultural inputs and have access to commercial centers for their produce. (PIA Ifugao) [top]
