Ifugao schools to celebrate Family Week

LAGAWE, Ifugao (22 September) -- With the intention of strengthening family unity and relationship, the Department of Education here is enjoining all public and private schools to celebrate Family Week on September 24-30.
Supervisor Judith Guyguyon said that the celebrations will promote family values. The parents and other stakeholders are encouraged to join their children in school activities in order to strengthen unity among them, she said.
With the theme "Makulay ang buhay ng Pamilyang Matibay, the occasion will be led by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as chair of the National Committee on the Filipino Family (NCFF). The Family Week celebration was declared through Presidential Proclamation No. 60 signed on September 18, 1992.
Guyguyon said that in order to make the celebration more meaningful, all public and private high schools are encouraged to drum up the occasion on bulletin boards and observe their "Family Day" in their respective schools involving the student population, parents and other stakeholders. Schools may also conduct related activities outside school hours like essay writing or oratorical contest; drawing; fun games for parents and stakeholders. (PIA-Ifugao) [top]
