The association was organized in 1992 and had been active until 1998. Reorganized in 2004 when Atty. Maximo Dalog regained the governorship, the association is composed of regular members only which is composed of the Provincial Governor, Vice Governor, the chiefs and assistant chiefs of offices, national as well as local offices.

This association aims to provide leadership in the attainment of the goals of the provincial government of Mt. According to out-going president Provincial Administrator Paulo Pagteilan, one of the greatest accomplishments of the APEX is the conceptualization of the Lang-ay festival.

Pagteilan said it was also the members of the APEX who planned for the activities of the past three Lang-ay Festivals which were successfully celebrated. The APEX also sponsored the Lang-ay fund raising like selling of raffle tickets and solicitation for the souvenir program which has generated funds for the province.

The proceeds of the 2005 and 2006 Lang-ay fund raising were used for the improvement of some facilities of the Bontoc General Hospital, the improvement of the Children's park and the construction of the amenities at the Rizal Plaza, Pagteilan added. (PIA MP) [top]
