Negrense information officers to meet in Silay City
Negros Occ. (24 September) -- The Negros Association of Government Information Officers (NAGIO) is scheduled to hold their monthly regular meeting in Silay City on September 27.
NAGIO is particularly keen on holding the meeting in Silay because it is presently one of the centers of development in the province being the site of the new multi-million Bacolod- Silay Airport and a modern government hospital- the Teresita Jalandoni Memorial Hospital.
Both development projects were already visited by President Gloria M. Arroyo, only months apart this year, and will also be the projects Information Officers will focus on.
Silay, considered the "Paris" of Negros Occ., is home to a number of ancestral homes recognized and accredited by the National Historical Commission.
The city is the province' premier cultural tourist destination and is home to many internationally acclaimed delicacies.
Silay City Mayor Jose "Oti" Montelibano hailed the holding of the activity. He will host the Information Officers meeting through the city's Information Officer Edgar Jison. (PIA-LOL) [top]
