Tagalog News: Pondo para sa Food-for-School Program tataas

Manila (25 September) -- Tataas sa P3.3 billion o 1.2% ang pondong inilaan ng Pamahalaan para sa Food-for-School program (FSP) sa susunod na taon. Ito'y malaking tulong upang lalong mapa-unlad ang implementasyon ng itinataguyod na hunger at poverty mitigation measures at mapababa ang bilang ng mahihirap sa bansa.

Maliban sa Food-for-School program, tataasan din ang pondo para ng iba pang mga program na kabilang sa hunger mitigation program ng Pamahalaan tulad ng Tindahan Natin at Barangay Food Terminals (BFTs).

Dagdag pa ng Pangulo, mula sa inilaan nitong pondo na P181 million umabot sa 6,583 na mga Tindahan Natin outlets ang naipatayo sa mga depressed areas sa mahigit 52 na mga probinsya ng bansa.

Ayon naman kay Department of Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap, inaasahan na aabot sa 60 na mga Barangay Food Terminals (BFTs) ang maipapatayo bago matapos ang taon. Dahil sa programang ito ng Pamahalaan, bumaba sa 17.7% ang hunger incidence ng bansa ngayong second quarter ng taon mula sa 19% ng nakalipas na unang quarter. (Abb/PIA 12) [top]
