NFA marks 35th anniversary
Negros Occ. (25 September) -- The National Food Authority will be celebrating its 35th anniversary with the theme "Tatlumpu't Limang Taong Patuloy na Paglilingkod sa Sambayanang Pilipino."
A mass will be held in the morning tomorrow Sept. 26 followed by a short program to be attended by employees and NFA partners.
Provincial Manager Marianito B. Bejemino said the NFA has stayed long all these years because the government and the people realize that the food agency is performing a social function that answers the basic right of the people for affordable and accessible rice at all times.
"Our operational losses have been the social gains of the poor who have been afforded an alternative source of good quality but low-priced rice being sold at our Bigasan ni Gloria sa Palengke (BGPs) outlets, Tindahan Natin (TN) and Bigasan sa Parokya (BSP) outlets," Bejemino said.
The manager thanked all employees and office' clienteles like the farmers, retailers and TN and BSP outlets for performing their tasks responsibly. He urged them to continue to support the NFA's programs in the province. (PIA-LOL) [top]
