Nursing re-take passers required to register with DOLE before certificate can be released

by R Escalante

LEGAZPI CITY (26 September) -- The first batch of the Nursing Re-Takers Professional Certificates is already available at the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regional office, for distribution to claimants who are required to register first with the office prior to the release of the certificates.

DOLE Bicol OIC-regional director Ernesto C. Bihis said this is in consonance with the DOLE Central Office decision to decentralized the release of certificates to its regional offices.but with the guideline. "The guideline is specific, re-take passers must register to the DOLE regional office in which they took the exam before releasing their certificates." The guideline, Bihis explained, is one control measure to ensure that no fake certificates will ever come out.

He also said that the DOLE Secretary wanted a fast, smooth and transparent issuances of the certificates. "We do not want any additional problem regarding nursing licensure, the reason why the DOLE Central Office is implementing stricter guidelines."

It can be recalled that the Labor Secretary Arturo Brion ordered a free review for Test III and Test V for the June 2006 Nursing Licensure Board passers after test leakage controversy. In Bicol, the free review was conducted in two batches at the Ateneo de Naga University (AdeNU). (DOLE/PIA) [top]
