Oro Comcenter responds to 270 emergency calls in August

Cagayan de Oro City (26 September) -- THE Cagayan de Oro Emergency Assistance and Communication Center (COMCENTER) has responded to a total of 270 calls for help in August, this year.

Ric Pabayo, COMCENTER manager, disclosed in his monthly accomplishment report to City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula that the COMCENTER has responded to calls for assistance on the following: 1 rape/homicide/molested case; 1 shooting incident; 101 traffic accidents; 14 robbery/ theft/ snatching/ vices; 2 stabbing/hacking cases ; 2 drug-related cases; 4 fire alarms; 3 cases of physical injury; 1 rescue; 1 vandalism; 6 carnapping;1 kidnapping/ missing ; 1 domestic violence; 1 bomb threat/recovery; 3 public utility trouble; 53 nuisance public disturbance/ intoxication; 27 bank/ pawnshop alarms and 48 other assistance.

Of the total number of calls for assistance received by the COMCENTER last month 184 calls were made through telephone; 79 calls through handheld radio and 7 personal visits.

COMCENTER is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to accept calls from the public who need assistance. It can be reached through all landline telephone through telephone number 166 and by UHF radio through 14.500mhz. (Cagayan de Oro City IO/PIA-MisOrOccCam i-Net) [top]
