PPP serves hundreds of residents in six urban barangays

Cagayan de Oro City (26 September) -- HUNDREDS of residents in six urban barangays, namely 24, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30, benefited from the various basic services offered by the city government as it conducted its second regular People to People Program (PPP) today, September 26, at the Barangay 24 covered court in Cagayan de Oro.

During the PPP, 1,000 residents availed of free medical consultation; 144 residents availed of dental check-up; 15 children availed of free circumcision; 500 children and adults availed of nutritional feeding and 300 families were given two kilos of rice each.

The City Agricultural Productivity Office (APO) also handed a total of 300 packs of assorted vegetable seedlings and 150 fruit seedlings to residents while the City Veterinary Office (CVO) registered 17 dogs and vaccinated them against rabies.

The Road and Traffic Administration (RTA) conducted traffic education orientation on the basic traffic rules and regulations of the city and the Oplan Ten-X and distributed 200 leaflets about traffic education, while 35 children availed of the City Public Library's free books and magazines reading.

The Cagayan de Oro City Police Office's (COCPO) "Operation Pagwapo" or free haircut served 33 children and distributed 72 packs of noodles, three packs of candies and five packs of assorted finger foods.

In today's People to People Program, City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula solemnized the mass wedding of 27 unwed couples who were living together for at least five years. The Local Civil Registry also registered 21 children for late birth registration.

The People to People Program is a regular program of the city government, which provides equal opportunity to people in the barangays to avail of the various services regularly offered by the city government.

Among the city officials who joined Mayor Jaraula in the holding of the PPP in the six urban barangays are Vice Mayor Vicente Y. Emano and city Councilor Jerico Goldmar Ebabacol together with Barangay 24 Chair Milagros Floriendo, Barangay 27 chair Mirolo Tagud and Barangay 26 chair Alejandro De la Cerna.
