Cebu Vice Mayors' League prexy vows to support Capitol

Cebu City (27 September) -- Balamban Vice Mayor and newly elected President of the Vice Mayors' League of the Philippines-Cebu Chapter Ace Binghay vowed to support the administration of Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia.
In an oath-taking ceremony at the Provincial Capitol here Tuesday Binghay said the League under his leadership will respond to any programs initiated by the Provincial Government.
Garcia, in her speech meanwhile, urged the League officials to use the mandate given to them by the people for the province to reach an "unparalleled heights of progress."
She issued an appeal to them to work with her so that they can achieve together for the greater good of the Cebuanos.
The task assigned to them by the people, she said, is so enormous that there is no other option left but to work together if they want to achieve.
The governor, however, promised to give the League P1million but she reminded them that the money was taken from public funds and that it has to give benefits to the people in return.
Those who compose the new set of Cebu Vice Mayors' League officers are: Binghay, President; Mandaue City Vice Mayor Carlo Fortuna, Vice Preseident; Talisay City Vice Mayor Lani Abarquez, Secretary; Minglanilla Vice Mayor Elianito Pena, Treasurer; Toledo City Vice Mayor Aurelio Espinoza, Auditor and Dumanjug Vice Mayor Abdon Jumao-as, Press Relations Officer.
