Surigao Norte Gov reports successful medical mission in Gen. Luna

Surigao City (28 September) -- With some 99 dental operations, 51 circumcised and 721 out-patient consultations, the just concluded Medical and Dental Mission held on Wednesday, September 27 in Gen. Luna, Surigao del Norte was a resounding success.

The endeavor was made possible with close partnership of the Provincial Government under the administration of Governor Robert Ace Barbers and the Abante Surigao local party.

The output was also confirmed by Dr. Audie Relliquette, Provincial Health Officer of the province who led the surgeons' contingent in the medical mission.

Governor Barbers welcomed the visitors and other stakeholders in the mission, and bared that Health is one of his priority programs in his administration when he delivered his message.

Governor Barbers assured the Siargaonons that there will be another similar mission in the next few months.

On the other hand, the success, according to Rexy dela Cruz of the PGO-Media Affairs Office, was evidenced by the considerable number of patients during the medical mission inquiring about their worries especially their dental problem and how can they go about it without fear.

Other medical services availed by the Siargaonons were pap smear where 20 mothers benefited, 49 for the random blood sugar, 9 for CBC, 67 availed the urinalysis, 5 for platelet count and 48 for hemoglobin determination. (PIA-Surigao del Norte) [top]
