by Jina Shirley G. Dacmay

Records obtained from the National Food Authority (NFA) here, reveals that a total of 2650 Pre-Schoolers and Grade I Pupils from 68 schools in the municipalities of Asipulo, Hingyon, Hungduan and Tinoc are directly benefiting from the program. The rice allocation will be 1 kilo per pupil per day for 15 days.

NFA Ifugao bared that distribution for Hingyon and Asipulo which started on September 12, were completed while rice supply for schools in the towns of Hungduan and Tinoc are still being done.

Norma Sarol, Department of Education (DepEd) Ifugao Division School Nurse and Focal Person for the "Food For School Program" said they are elated with the continuation of the program which has lessened the number of absenteeism and dropping-out from school of pupils. "I hope the increase in budget for 2008 will strengthen further the program to include other grade levels", she added.
