Pintados stages 2nd reg'l inter-school cheer dance competition

Tacloban City (September 29) -- The Pintados Foundation is staging the 2nd Regional Inter School Cheer Dance Competition on Saturday, September 29, in line with its goal of instilling in the minds of the young people the value of heritage in the culture and creating a venue whereby the youth of the Region could express their creative talents.

The Inter-School Cheer Dance Competition will be held at 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon at the Tacloban City Convention Center, Mr. Eugene Tan, president of the Pintados Foundation informed.

The Competition will be participated in by thirteen schools, three in the elementary division, seven in the high school division and three from the college division.

The Cheer Dance elementary division will be participated in by San Fernando Elementary School, Rizal Central School and the defending champion, the Tacloban SPED Center.

The schools which registered for the high school division are the Leyte National High School, Julita National Highschool, Holy Cross Academy of Carigara, Naval Institute of Technology, Sagkahan Elementary School and Tanauan National High School.

For the college division, the participants are the Eastern Visayas State University Main Campus, the Eastern Visayas State University Ormoc Campus and ABE.

To give more credence to the Competition, Pintados has invited two judges from Manila particularly from the University of Santo Tomas, Tacloban City Councilor Cristina Romualdez, Fr. Rey Caraballa and one other judge.

At stake is P60,000 in cash prizes apportioned into P30,000 for the college division; P20,000 for the high school division; and P10,000 for the elementary division. (PIA 8) [top]
