Clean-up drive workshop held in Bacolod City
Bacolod City (4 February) -- The Bacolod City Clean and Green Coordinating Action Team chaired by Councilor Greg Gasataya conducted an orientation and assessment of the garbage situation in the barangays of Bacolod City recently in order to provide action plans to address it.
This is part of the intensified clean-up campaign and assessment of the solid waste management situation of the city.
Guest sparker was environmentalist lawyer Antonio Oposa, who said, he said he had filed several charges against mayors, councilors and other public officials for not complying with their task of handling solid waste management.
Gasataya, chairman of Committee on Ecology and Environment, said he has authored the "Proposed Ordinance Regulating the Use of Plastic Bags/Plastic Cellophane as packing/bagging materials and institutionalizing the Use of Biodegradable Containers within the City of Bacolod. (PIA/cad) [top]
