Story-telling plays big role in kids' learning
Bacolod City (4 February) -- A story-telling activity was held at the Bacolod City Library recently.
This is a joint project of the City Library in cooperation with the Trinity Christian School, La Consolacion College's Library and Information Class-14, and the Colegio de San Agustin sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bacolod-West and the Rotary Club of Bacolod for the different Day Care Centers in the city.
Trinity Christian School and LCC - Library Science and Information students hosted the story-telling to nursery and kindergarten pupils of Brgy. Cabug Day Care Center. Some of the stories read included "The Frog Wanted to Sing", "The Milkmaid", "The Frog Prince", "Paradise of the Animals" and "A Thirsty Sparrow".
"Story-telling plays a big role in the learning process of little children, it will also awaken their imagination and creativity", City Assistant Librarian Greta Memoria said.
Certificates of Appreciation were given to the story tellers and teachers for their invaluable service, cooperation and assistance to the Story-telling project. The Rotary Club of Bacolod and the Rotary Club of Bacolod-West provided the coloring books, coloring materials and snacks for the children, parents and teachers during the program. (CMO/PIA) [top]
