Ilocos Sur gives free 3–minute overseas call for OFWs

VIGAN CITY (6 February) -- The provincial government of Ilocos Sur headed by Ilocos Sur Governor Deogracias Victor "DV" B. Savellano launched a program giving a 3–minute free overseas call for all residents in the province having relatives as Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) all over the world.
The program, which dubbed as "Direct Voice Broadband Service" (DVBS), was a free direct – dial overseas call program from 9:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon from Monday to Friday.
"This is a regular program by the provincial government to help our people having relatives all over the world to talk to them with free of charge for 3 – minute conversation," Savellano explained.
He called all the residents in the province to feel free to visit the provincial capitol to avail this program.
Meanwhile, the Ilocos Sur Hotline Program aired over DWRS – Commando Radio is also continuing to address all the problems of the residents not only in the province but also other provinces in Ilocos region.
The program, which launched by former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis Chavit Singson in 1999 and now being hosted by Governor Savellano, was successfully served thousands residents notn only from Ilocos Sur but from other provinces in Northern Luzon particularly those who had problems on relatives in abroad.
