266 cops in Ilocos Sur promoted

Camp Pres. Quirino, Bantay, Ilocos Sur (6 February) -- A total of 266 personnel from Ilocos Sur police provincial office were promoted to the next higher rank as they were simultaneously took their oath of office during the flag-raising ceremony here.
Ilocos Sur Governor Deogracias Victor "DV" B. Savellano formally administered the oath of office of the newly promoted police officers.
It was reported that the newly promoted police personnel from the province were part of the 1,165 police personnel from Region 1 and also part of the more than 22,000 policemen nationwide who were massively promoted to the next higher rank.
Senior Superintendent Virgilio G. Fabros, Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Director, said Tuesday the adjustment of the ranks of policemen from the province was part of the regular promotion of the police personnel based on the completion of the mandatory requirements to include the following: length of service or time and grade; eligibility, educational attainment and trainings.
"This promotion of personnel in the province is a regular quota as the members of the PNPs board for promotions are yearly conducting interviews to those who are qualified for promotions," Fabros said.
From the 266 personnel promoted: 2 were promoted from Chief Inspectors to Superintendents; 1 Senior Inspector to Chief Inspector; 8 Inspectors to Senior Inspectors; 3 SPO4 to Inspector; 4 SPO3 to SPO4; 5 SPO2 to SPO3; 5 SPO1 to SPO2; 78 PO3 to SPO1; and 160 PO2 to PO3.
With the statistical data: there were 14 police commissioned officers were promoted and a total of 252 police non – commissioned officers promoted.
Meanwhile, Governor Savellano congratulated the newly promoted police personnel as he cited their vital roles and contributions in the maintenance of the province as the most peaceful in Ilocos region.
As gesture of appreciation to the policemen, Savellano allotted some P600, 000.00 seed money capital for lending with low interest rates for all cops assigned in the province who are in emergency need of money.
For his part, Fabros expressed his thanks to Governor Savellano for his all out support to the programs and needs of the policemen in the province.
Earlier, Ilocos Region Police Director Chief Superintendent Leopoldo Bataoil congratulated also the newly promoted police personnel.
