SITEL conducts enhancement training to Ifugao employees

LAGAWE, Ifugao (8 February) -- About 50 Ifugao provincial employees participated in a two-day computer enhancement training conducted by SITEL, a call center company, as its contribution to the capability-building program of the province.

The training held on February 8 and 9 with the subject "Advancing Community Relation through Effective Communication and Use of Basic Computer Technology", is in fulfillment of Sitel's part in the Memorandum of Agreement it has with the with the provincial government of Ifugao.

Participants include clerks/secretaries, middle-level supervisors and department heads of the different provincial offices who took their lectures at the 3rd Floor of the Provincial Engineering Office Building at the Provincial Capitol and the technical training at the Ifugao State College of Agriculture and Forestry, Lagawe Campus where 25 computer are made available for the actual exercise.

Training Module 1 for the clerk/secretaries included topics in customer care and hands on training on power point and excel while training module 2 for middle management and department heads include topics on public speaking, confidence building and also power point and excel.

According to SITEL, this training is one of their ways of giving back to the community that has made them the world's biggest call center and hoped that the training will make the government of Ifugao more significant in propelling the province on its way to global competitiveness.

According to Isabelita Codamon of the Department of Labor and Employment Field Office here, SITEL had also earlier selected and recruited 50 Ifugao candidates for training and as eventual call center employees of the company as an effort to help the province in its job generation program.

She said that another batch of 50 recruits is scheduled to be selected this month of March as assessment and evaluation are being undertaken for the lucky candidates. (PIA Ifugao) [top]
