PCA to give incentives to Samar coconut farmers

Catbalogan City (February 13) -- The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) encourages the farmer to plant more coconut to earn instant income.
This was learned from a pamphlet distributed by PCA Samar.
Coconut farmers will receive five pesos (5.00) for each coconut they planted. Another five pesos (5.00) for each coconut that has grown for at least two (2) feet in height for five (5) months after planting. And another Twenty (20.00) pesos for each coconut for at least three (3) feet in height for five (5) months after planting.
The total amount that will be received to by a farmer is P30.00 for each coconut. The cash award will be given to the farmer in person by the Philippine Coconut Authority. The coconut farmer has to register his coconut to PCA before February 28, 2008 to be recognized and be awarded the incentive.
This project is being implemented through the efforts of Secretary Arthur C. Yap of the Department of Agriculture and Oscar G. Garin, Administrator of Philippine Coconut Authority in cooperation with the Coconut Industry Investment Fund Oil Mills through President and CEO Danilo M. Coronacion. (PIA Samar) [top]
