Oro mayor orders probe on contractors' allegations
Cagayan de Oro City (14 February) -- City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula ordered the City Legal Office to conduct a formal investigation into allegations by some contractors of city government projects that their documents are not processed on time by some City Hall employees.
Mayor Jaraula's order is in response to City Vice Mayor Vicente Y. Emano's report that some employees deliberately delay the processing of documents of project contractors whenever no consideration is given.
In a memorandum he issued today, Mayor Jaraula authorized City Legal Officer Maryanne C. Enteria to immediately conduct a formal investigation if only to know the truth about the alleged report.
"You are hereby enjoined to immediately conduct formal investigation as to the truth thereof and recommend measures to stop the abuses, without prejudice to prosecution of those involved," Mayor Jaraula pointed out in his memorandum to Atty. Enteria.
Mayor Jaraula reiterated that he will not hesitate to prosecute any employee of the city government who will commit irregularities and illegal activities in the performance of their functions as public servants.
Since the beginning of his administration, Mayor Jaraula made it clear that he will not tolerate any anomalies committed by city hall employees even as he exhorted them to always give their best in the daily performance of their jobs. (Cagayan de Oro City IO) [top]
