Capiz coop trains kwh meter watchdogs

by A. Lumaque

Roxas City (15 February) -- About 56 meter readers from all area offices of the Capiz Electric Cooperative (CAPELCO) have undergone a rigid seminar-workshop during the last quarter of 2007 to further enhance the skills and abilities of all meter readers in the cooperative.

"The two-day seminar workshop focused on values-based work life that will help the participants realize the importance and seriousness of their obligations to the employer and most of all to the member-consumers," said CAPELCO Public Information Officer Kenneth Tipon in a press release.

During the opening ceremonies, CAPELCO General Manager Edgar D. Diaz welcomed and challenged the participants to perform well in serving the member-consumers by living the right attitude and character in the name of public service.

The activity was graced by a renowned University of the Philippines Professor Lory Padohinog as main resource person.

She talked on different values-based work life that paves the way for opening oneself to higher responsibilities and striving for excellence in the field of meter reading, added Tipon.

The other resource speakers included the CAPELCO's administration chief Luther Beldia, legal division head Arturo Dellota, and meter section head Benchito Dumol. The cooperative's bigwigs composed of Engineers Edmund Beluso, Don Baticados and Allan Greg Belo also acted as lecturers.

The CAPELCO-based speakers discussed the topics on meter readers as ambassadors of goodwill and related matters. (PIA/kitz) [top]
